Pensioner gives Rs 1 lakh for Uttarakhand disaster relief

Responding generously to the need of a crisis-hit Uttarakhand, an 83-year-old pensioner here has donated Rs 1 lakh from his savings for relief works.
Meghraj Srimali, who retired as the Director of the state's Department of Information and Public Relations, handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today, a spokesperson said.
Srimali said that he had visited the picturesque region in 1982 and was so moved by the experience that the ravages wrought there by the present calamity had compelled him to come forward to offer help.
