Phensedyl worth Rs 26 cr seized

The driver and his assistant were arrested, sources in BSF said today.

Acting on a tip-off the security forces yesterday stopped the truck from Jalpaguri in West Bengal and recovered the bottles hidden inside the bags of potatoes.

Phensedyl is a drug used in cough syrup. It is smuggled into Bangladesh, where sale of alcohol is banned. People drink this syrup in excess quantity to get drunk, sources said.
