Police have detained several suspects in connection with a shooting incident in which five men gunned down a youth in Masuri area here after he objected to their drinking.
Police said they raided several places last night to nab the accused but did not get any major success. They, however, have detained several suspects for interrogation.
The condition of another injured, who is undergoing treatment at a local hospital, is stated to be stable.
Five youth yesterday shot dead 30-year-old Vivek after he objected to their drinking near his residence. His friend Veeru was also injured during the incident.
Vivek had died on the spot after receiving a bullet on his head.
An FIR was lodged with police in which Vivek's family has named Nande Gurjar, Sube Gurjar and Sonu Yadav. Two others were yet to be identified.
