Police Inspector arrested

A police team had gone to Hanuman Nagar in search of one Ajay Chaudhary in connection with a case yesterday, police said.

The team took him into custody and was returning when Inspector Ashok, Chaudhary's neighbour, and others stopped the police vehicle.

As they entered into arguments with police personnel, Chaudhary managed to escape, police said.

A case was registered against the Inspector who was arrested, they said.

He was, however, granted bail by a local court.

The Inspector had been abstaining from work for the past two years and a departmental inquiry was on against him, police said.
