Bundles of cash stashed in bags, allegedly kept to be used during the Ranchi Municipal Corporation election tomorrow, were seized from a city hotel today, a police official said here.
"Rs 21.9 lakh was recovered from the hotel in the presence of observers deputed by the State Election Commission (SEC). The money was kept to be used in tomorrow's elections," Superintendent of Police (City) Manoj Ratan Chouthey told PTI.
An FIR has been filed against three persons, including the Mayoral candidate Rama Khalko, who recently joined the Congress and is also the sitting Mayor of Ranchi.

The incident has been taken seriously by the SEC, sources in the SEC said.
Meanwhile, all arrangements for the Ranchi Municipal Corporation polls have been completed with 14 candidates contesting for the mayor's post. In all, 501 candidates are in the fray for the 55 posts of ward councillors.
Voting will be held between 7 am and 3 pm, official sources said.
