Policemen attacked at crematorium

Two policemen and as many civic volunteers were injured after a group of people attacked them at a crematorium in Malda district today, police said.

The group had come to cremate a body and some of them in inebriated condition attacked the policemen and civic volunteers who were present there.

The incident happened around 10.30 am, at Sadulapur under Englishbazar police station area, about eight kilometre away from here, the police said.

Four persons were arrested later, the officer said.

The injured policemen and civic volunteers were admitted to Malda Medical College and Hospital.
