Senior separatist leader and JKLF chairman Yasin Malik today accepted that separatists in Kashmir were defeated by the Centre in the recently concluded Assembly elections which saw no effect of poll boycott campaign run by them.

The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief, however, told reporters that the separatist leadership would emerge again as they have not given up.

Malik also warned of widespread protests in the event of government making any changes to the existing state subject laws in Jammu and Kashmir.

The separatist leader criticised the People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for his "double standards" in the aftermath of his party and the BJP coming together to form an alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir.
