Power supply cut off to Peera Garhi relief camp in Delhi

The camp has been providing electricity following directive from the city government and the payment used to be made by the Revenue Department.

As of today, 1,500 inhabitants are residing in the camp, of which only bonafide allotees are entitled to free electricity, a BRPL official said.

The discom disconnected the supply due to non-payment of dues to the tune of Rs 6.27 crore by the government.

"BRPL was deferring the disconnection on humanitarian grounds till now," the official said.
