A detailed project report on the proposed two-kilometre long parallel bridge across Zuari river would be ready within 25 days, Goa Public Works Department Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said here today.
Construction of the bridge is being planned across the Zuari river to connect Margao to Panaji, since the existing bridge is in dire straits.
"Alignment for the new bridge is almost finalised. Before submitting it to the Union Ministry of Surface Transport for its sanction, we will inform people about its alignment," Dhavalikar told reporters here today, after meeting Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Dhavalikar said that final decision on its alignment was taken by the Goa chief minister who chose one of the three alignments suggested by experts.
"The alignment is within the area acquired for the project," he said.
Dhavalikar said that the tendering would be done only after there is green nod from the centre for this project.
