The maximum temperature today dropped by a few notches in Punjab and Haryana after light to moderate rains lashed many parts of the states.
Chandigarh which received light showers this evening, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius, down two notches than normal, the MeT Department report said here.
Ambala recorded a high of 36.4 deg C, down two while Hisar's maximum settled at 38.7 deg C, also down two degrees.

In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum dropped six notches below normal to settle at 32 deg C.
Ludhiana recorded a high of 35.5 deg C, down four notches while Patiala's maximum settled at 36.4 deg C.
