The priority of state police is to strengthen its relations with the public so that image of it hit in the recent past could be re-established, Punjab DGP Suresh Arora said today.
He directed all the district police chiefs to take immediate steps so that image of police hit in the recent past could be re-established.
He reiterated that his top priority is to maintain law and order and change the mindset of the force, safety of life and property of common citizens.

The DGP also directed the district police chiefs ensure justice to all and said that the agenda of police should be ensuring respect for citizens, transparency and fair conduct.
Arora also directed for the streamlining of police stations and police control rooms.
He said that Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) will be set up in each of the district of the state.
"These teams will have 60 trained police personnel who will be used as emergency response at a short notice specially while dealing with agitating crowd," Arora said.
