Press Trust of India Chandigarh
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today ordered fresh survey of Blue Card holders (beneficiaries of Atta-Dal scheme) to include all eligible poor families within the scheme's ambit.

Presiding over a meeting to review welfare schemes, Badal said he was getting reports that some eligible poor families were left out during the earlier survey and were unable to get the scheme's benefit.

He asked Principal Secretary to Chief Minister S K Sandhu to issue directions to all Deputy Commissioners in the state to launch a fresh survey and include all eligible families in the scheme.

A door to door survey should be organised in every village and town to ensure that no poor family was left out of the scheme, he said.

Releasing Rs 180 crore for the Atta-Dal scheme, Badal said it was the country's only scheme under which 16 lakh families were getting 35 kg of wheat and 4 kg of pulses at highly subsidised rates.

Badal added, it should be ensured that every family benefited under the scheme should get the allocated ration by the 7th day of every month.
