Power distribution companies (DISCOMs) in Rajasthan have registered a decline of nearly 4.30 per cent in distribution losses, resulting in reduction of nearly Rs 6,000 crore in the annual financial loss.

As a result of efforts made under feeder improvement programme, the distribution losses in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer have come down significantly in 2016-17.

The distribution loss was at 24.05 per cent in 2013-14, 27.22 per cent in 2014-15, 27.67 in 2015-16 and is expected to be 23.37 in 2016-17.

The distribution loss is targeted to bring down to 19.34 per cent in 2017-18, a release said today.

The decline of 4.3 per cent in the distribution losses is likely to result in reduction of nearly 6,000 crore in the annual financial losses in 2016-17, compared to Rs 11,240 crore in the previous fiscal.
