Rahul Gandhi today congratulated Justin Trudeau upon his election as the Prime Minister of Canada.
"Congratulations @JustinTrudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada for the resounding victory in elections. Wishing you & your team the very best", the Congress Vice President said on a micro-blogging site Twitter.
Justin Trudeau, the son of late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, became Canada's new prime minister after his Liberal Party won a majority of that country's Parliament's 338 seats.
Narendra Modi, earlier in April this year, became the first Indian Prime Minister to travel to Canada in 42 years with the visit focussing on setting a trajectory in ties through cooperation in energy, including civil nuclear, and attracting trade and technology for India's development.
