Railway employee held on graft charges

CBI sleuths today arrested a railway employee here for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a contractor in lieu of clearing his pending bills, department sources said.

The accused Bhupinder Singh, a employee of Divisional Railway Manager's office at Ambala Cantt, had demanded the bribe from a railway contractor Sanjeev Kumar.

Later, Kumar filed a complaint with the CBI following which the investigating agency laid a trap and nabbed Singh while accepting the money at the DRM office, they said.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused, they added.
