Rajasthan's 2,869 villages declared scarcity hit

The Government of Rajasthan today declared 2,869 villages in 21 districts as scarcity hit in view of Rabi crop-2014 assessment in the state, an official said here.

Jhalawar district has the most villages at 869, followed by Dausa 106, and Alwar 100, the official said.

Land revenue tax in these villages would be deferred till July 31, 2014.
