Ravidas statue found damaged, tension prevails in UP village

Days after a statue of dalit icon B R Ambedkar was found damaged in Shamli district, another statue of poet-saint Ravidas was allegedly desecrated at Khatauli police station area here.

According to SHO K O Singh, the statue of Ravidas was found damaged inside a temple in Dukhad village here yesterday.

He said security has been tightened in the village.

Communal tension has gripped many districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanapur, Gonda and Sambhal.
