Refined soya oil prices rose 0.77 per cent to Rs 599.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid pick-up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 4.60, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 599.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,04,550 lots.

Also, the oil for delivery in February moved up by Rs 2.05, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 618 per 10 kg in 11,510 lots.

Analysts said besides pick-up in demand in spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
