Refined soya oil prices edged up by 0.13 per cent to Rs 674.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in December month traded higher by 90 paise or 0.13 per cent to Rs 674.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 58,910 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in November month contracts edged up by 20 paise or 0.03 per cent to Rs 669.85 per 10 kg in 32,820 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following uptick in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
