Seeking to bring convenience to people and riddance from touts, the state government today launched an online pilot project for registration of driving licenses in Lucknow.
Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Durga Prasad Yadav launched the pilot project where an applicant can register online for driver's license and also the payment amount.
"The facility will help people in applying and depositing fees for licence and also help in dealing with tout menace besides saving time. The facility will be extended in other cities in phased manner", Yadav said.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the minister said the state government was trying to expand this facility in other cities too in the days to come.
He said that after applying, the applicants will only have to appear in transport offices for their Biometric impressions and driving tests.
