Maharashtra Government will provide relief to the remaining hailstorm-affected areas in fifteen days, the Legislative Council was informed here today.

"If farmers complain to tehsildars, fresh panchnama would be done for assessing the damage," Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Patangrao Kadam said, replying to a question raised by NCP MLC Amarsinh Pandit under Rule 206 of the House.

Crop on 20.57 lakh hectare was lost due to the hailstorm, the minister said.

Pandit alleged that there had been dereliction of duty on part of the government in disbursing relief to the affected areas.

"The government has disbursed Rs 2244 crore relief and the remaining relief would be disbursed in 15 days," the minister said.
