Meanwhile, a number of roadways employees and members of various employees' unions gathered at the civil hospital at Ambala city where the body of Singh was kept for postmortem.
Later, the employees ransacked the official vehicles of the DCP and local SHO parked in the roadways depot campus.
The union leaders demanded registration of a case against the DCP and GM of Ambala Roadways and said the cremation of the body would not be conducted till the demand was accepted.
Commissioner of Police, Ambala, Rajbir Deshwal and DC, Ambala, Shekhar Vidharthi said it was an unintentional incident and an inquiry would be conducted in this regard.
The state president of Haryana Roadways workers union Sarbat Poonia, who also reached the civil hospital, said after consulting with union leaders, office bearers of the union would finalise a strategy in this regard.
Numerous police forces have been deployed in the civil hospital to deal with any untoward situation.
The senior officers of the administration are in touch with union leaders to diffuse the matter, sources said.
