Retired police inspector shot dead in Punjab's Ambala

A retired police inspector was shot dead allegedly by some identified men at Ambala Cantonment on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Satwinder Singh, a resident of the Raja Park area, they said.
Singh had come to a ground for morning walk. Later, when he was on his way to home, he stopped at a tea shop. The assailants, who came in a car, fired at him and fled, police said.
He sustained several bullet injuries and was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead, they said.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jorwal and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Kumar rushed to the scene of the incident following the attack on Singh.
The video footage of the surrounding shops located near the incident site has been collected and a search is on to nab the culprits, police said.
A case has been registered against unidentified persons, they said.
