RO plant inaugurated in Kirti Nagar

The city today got an RO water plant, installed by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL) at Kirti Nagar that will provide access to free clean drinking water to residents of JJ clusters there.

Water from the RO plant can be withdrawn by using a unique electronic Any-Time Water (ATW) card issued to the beneficiary.

Addressing the residents after inaugurating the plant in the West Delhi colony, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekh said that access to quality education, health and potable water are basic necessities and important focus areas for all.

"I am happy that companies like TPDDL are coming forward to help the government in providing these facilities. Safe and clean drinking water reduces the possibilities of diseases sharply and I am confident that the newly installed RO water purifier will be very beneficial to residents of Kirti Nagar," she said.
 

Speaking on the occasion, TPDDL's CEO and MD Praveer Sinha said health and education along with employability are key areas on which the company has centered its CSR activities.

"Access to potable water is must and installation of water purifier at Kirti Nagar is an effort towards it," he said.

Moti Nagar MLA Shiv Charan Goel, who was also present at the programme, said, "It is our mission to provide safe and clean drinking water to all household and I thank TPDDL for taking such an initiative."

According to the company, the water purifier has a capacity to purify 500 liters of water per hour and it will provide access to clean and safe drinking water to residents of nearby JJ clusters free of cost. The site for installation of water purifier was identified in association with Delhi Jal Board, it said.

The company also said that water from the RO plant can be withdrawn by using a unique electronic Any-Time Water (ATW) card issued to the beneficiary by it.

The day-to-day operations of the RO plant will be managed by the members of a group that was formed in the community to address the issue of unemployment and infuse the spirit of entrepreneurship in women, it said.
