Rs 1.5 crore seized from vehicle in Nalgonda district

Police today seized unaccounted -for cash of Rs 1.5 crore from a vehicle in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh.
The money was recovered from a mini-lorry at Chinthapally town, about 100km from here, at around 1 am and the same was handed over to district and IT department officials, a police officer said, adding the matter was under investigation.
The mini-lorry was on its way to Prakasam from Hyderabad.
Police on April 30 had found burnt currency notes worth Rs 1.5 lakh in an abandoned vehicle bearing a sticker of a local Congress leader on the outskirts of Suryapet town in Nalgonda district, which voted on April 30. An probe is on in the case.
