Rs 90 lakh unaccounted cash seized in Hyderabad

Police today seized Rs 90 lakh unaccounted cash from a man, who claimed to be a TDP worker, here, police said.

The cash was seized from Chandramouli, who was travelling in a bus from Hyderabad to Karimnagar at Bollarum check-post, they said, adding he was subsequently arrested.

"When we searched the bus at the check-post we found this huge unaccounted amount from one passenger identified as Chandramouli. As per his version, he is an activist of TDP," Bollarum SHO G Jagan said.

The money has been handed over to I-T department and it will be returned only after submission of necessary documents, police said.
 

As part of the Model Code of Conduct for polls, officials are keeping a close watch on movement of large amounts of cash.
