Sacked nurse attempts suicide

A 33-year-old nurse from Kerala allegedly attempted suicide in the premises of a hospital in south Delhi after being sacked, the police said today.

The woman, Jena Joseph, had injured herself with a blade yesterday at the ILBS Hospital.

Joseph, who had been working as a nurse for the last four years, had been fired by the hospital authorities on grounds of misconduct over which she was upset, police said.

She was discharged from a hospital after treatment.
