SAD announces candidate from Patiala seat

Shiromani Akali Dal has named Bhagwan Dass Juneja as the candidate of SAD-BJP alliance from Patiala Assembly seat for the upcoming bypolls.

The announcement was made by SAD president and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in a statement issued here today.

Bhagwan Dass Juneja is an eminent social worker, the statement said.

Congress has named former Union minister Preneet Kaur as its candidate from Patiala (Urban) constituency.

The Patiala seat was vacated by Amarinder Singh after he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amritsar, defeating BJP stalwart Arun Jaitley, necessitating bypolls.
