School headmaster shot dead by unknown assailant

A headmaster of a school was shot dead by an unidentified person in Borbheta Tea Estate here today.

Dwijen Gogoi, headmaster of Namunabagan Lower Primary School, was called out of the institution by an unidentified person. Upon his arrival, the accused shot him dead, Superintendent of Police Amanjeet Kaura said.

The assailant fled from the scene. Gogoi died on the spot, he added.

The motive was suspected to be personal enmity, but investigations are on, the SP said.
