School officials booked for negligence over building collapse

A case has been registered against six persons of a school management for alleged negligence in the building collapse near New Mandi area here, with no casualties reported so far, police said today.

A tragedy was averted on Thursday night when the three-storey building of Grain Chamber Public School collapsed here. There were no reports of casualty.

A case of negligence has been registered against six officials from the management, including the private school's manager, they said.

At least 1500 students are currently enrolled in the institution and the building could have collapsed during the working hours of school, police said.
 

The matter is under investigation, they said.
