The Indian International Seafood Export Fair will be held at Visakhapatnam on January 16 instead of Chennai as planned earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said.
She said this after laying the foundation stone for a permanent office building and laboratory complex of a sub-office of the export inspection agency at Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation's (APIIC) industrial park at Gambheeram village here.
Initially, it was planned to conduct the fair at Chennai, she added.

The present local branch of the agency has been issuing 120 testing certificates to seafood exporters everyday.
By establishing a testing laboratory and a sub-office, exporters can save time by getting the testing certificate locally, Sitharaman said.
