Select base metals slip on lower demand

Prices of select varieties of copper, brass and tin slipped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amidst reduced demand from industrial users.

Copper fell to its lowest in Asian trade as jitters over a possible bond default in China's construction sector triggered a round of profit-taking.

Tin dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,585 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,590.

Copper utensils scrap dipped by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 446 from Rs 450.

Copper scrap heavy and brass sheet cutting fell by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 482 and Rs 352 from Rs 485 and Rs 355.
 

Copper armiture moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 469 from Rs 471.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and brass utensils scrap softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 493, Rs 521 and Rs 336, respectively.
