Select pulses led by gram dropped by up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today following fall in demand from retailers coupled with sufficient stocks position.
Traders said considerable fall in demand from retailers at current levels against ample stocks position on improved supplies after the government took steps to curb prices, mainly kept pressure on gram and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, gram plunged by Rs 500 to Rs 7,200-7,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 7,600-7,800 and Rs 7,900-8,000 per quintal respectively. Kabuli gram small variety also dropped by Rs 500 to 8,600-9,000 per quintal.

Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 3,430 each instead of Rs 3,530 each per 35 kg.
Arhar and its dal dara variety too fell by Rs 400 and Rs 500 to Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,700-10,400 per quintal respectively.
In line with overall trend, masoor small and bold finished lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,600-5,800 and Rs 5,650-5,850 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,050-6,550 and Rs 6,150-6,650 per quintal respectively.
