A senior Bihar government official posted in the city was arrested today for allegedly raping his minor daughter and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Senior Deputy Collector in Revenue department Akhilesh Kumar was arrested from his flat in posh Shrikrishnapuri on the complaint of his daughter, Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said.
After medical investigation, the complaint of rape was prima facie found to be true, the SSP said.
The 14-year-old victim, a student of standard VII in a prestigious city school, had lodged a complaint with the women's police station in the capital.
She alleged that her father raped her four or five times in past few days and when she resisted, she was beaten up by him.
Kumar was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramakant Yadav who sent him to 14 days judicial custody.
