: Tamil Nadu government today promoted and transferred senior IPS officials in the state, including Coimbatore Commissioner A K Viswanathan.
Among those promoted as ADGP were Shankar Jiwal, IG, STF, Sathyamangalam, Erode.
Further, Viswanathan was also promoted as Additional Director General of Police. He was transferred and posted as Chief Vigilance Officer, Metropolitan Transport Corporation Chennai Division.
Others who were promoted as ADGP included Abhash Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Law and Order (South), Greater Chennai, T V Ravichandran, IG, Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau, Union Home Ministry and Seema Agarwal, IG, Railways.
The government effected a series of transfers at the levels of ADGP, IG and SP levels.
