Seven killed in separate incidents in Peshawar

At least seven persons, including a policeman and a woman, were killed and five others injured in separate incidents of violence in this restive northwestern Pakistani city today.

A policeman deployed for guarding a mosque was killed when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire in Sawkano area. The incident is said to be a case of targeted killing.

In Gulbahar area, another man was shot dead in front of a mosque. Similarly in Faqir Abad area, unknown armed men shot dead a shopkeeper.

In Badhaber area, unidentified gunmen opened fire injuring two policemen while in Mathra and Pishtakhara areas three people were injured in similar incidents.
 

Police have registerd cases in connection with the incidents and launched a search for the culprits.

In another incident, at least four persons including a woman were killed in a clash between two rival groups allegedly over a land dispute in Gabri area of Bajaur Agency, officials said. The accused are on the run.
