A Mahila Court here today sentenced a man to undergo seven years imprisonment for the abduction and rape of a 14-year-old girl five years ago.
The prosecution case was that Nazar, running a provision
stores in Selvapuram in the city, had kidnapped the girl on September 22, 2009, and took her to various places and raped her for five days.
The judge M P Subramanian ordered him to pay Rs 50,000 to the victim and Rs 10,000 as court expenses.
The judge also asked the state government to provide a suitable job to the victim considering her educational qualification.
Besides, the Government was also asked to pay Rs one lakh to the girl, under the scheme of compensation to rape victims.
