In a shocking incident, a seven- year-old boy died of suffocation when his aunt forcibly dipped his face into a water-filed bucket, before she hanged herself to death at Maryadapatti in City Kotwali are here today, police said.
The woman, identified as, Sarita Pal (25) allegedly pushed Harshit's head into the bucket till he died of suffocation, Kotwali Inspector Ajay Srivastava said.
She later rang up her husband, a school teacher, to tell him about the incident before fatally hanging herself from the roof of the house, Srivastava said.

Sarita's husband had adopted his sister's son (Harshit) after the couple remained childless for some years after marriage, but ever since she delivered a baby girl six month's ago, she had been asking that the boy be sent back to his parents, the inspector said.
Though the husband rushed home as soon as he receivedd the call, but to no avail, Srivastava said, adding, both the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
