Several facilities for Gujjars to come up in J-K

Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, at a review meeting yesterday, asked officers of the concerned departments to expedite land identification and acquisition process required for establishment of Gujjar Bhawan and Gujjar Bakerwal Cultural Center at Jammu besides Gujjar Bakerwal Girls Hostel at Srinagar.

He asked the officers to explore all possible options so that work on these projects is started early.

The Deputy Chief Minister was informed that Rs 13 crore are available with government for implementing the projects but they could not be taken up in view of non-availability of requisite land in Jammu and Srinagar cities.

He was told that land in available at Jammu but it is quite insufficient and not fulfilling the norms fixed by the Centre for such projects.
