SG Group to foray into drinking water,snacks and rice category

Sanjay Ghodawat (SG) Group will invest Rs 95 crore this fiscal to foray into packaged drinking water, snacks and rice category.

"Our group as whole is on an expansion spree. We are almost expanding in all the sectors we are present in..We are closely working on launching our snack food brand in 1st week of September which will be followed by the launch of our packaged drinking water brand and then our rice brand," the company said.

Elaborating on the investment plans, the company said: "Total investment in Phase 1 (FY14-15) will be Rs 10 crore for namkeen and snack food division, Rs 15 crore for packaged drinking water division and Rs 70 crore for rice mill division."
 

The company said initially it will market its products in Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka.

"In phase 2, the group also plans to enter Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat," it added.

The group has interest in agriculture, consumer products, energy, textiles and realty.
