SHO held on graft charge

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) today arrested a Police Inspector-cum-Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Kumar Rai on graft charge from Bihar's Sheohar district, an official release said.

Acting on a complaint, a VIB team laid a trap and arrested Rai from Tariyani police station as soon as he took Rs. 15,000 in bribe from one Raghunath Sah, a native of Vasarpur village, the release said.

The tainted cop had demanded Rs. 20,000 from the complainant to take out his name from a supervision note in a case, it said.

Rai will be produced before a designated vigilance court in Muzaffarpur in due course of time after interrogation, the release said.
