Siblings arrested for theft; stolen jewellery recovered

A 22-year-old woman was arrested along with her brother for allegedly stealing jewellery from her employer's residence, police said today.

Jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh was recovered allegedly from Manita and Ranbir (33), who allegedly stole it from from her employer's house in Ashok Vihar, P Karunakaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West), said.

Manita was interrogated by the police after her employer Rajni Mittal reported the theft to police.

She was arrested on April 1 when she was allegedly trying to leave Delhi along with the stolen jewellery, he said.

The DCP said, during interrogation she told that a part of the stolen jewellery was taken by her brother Ranbir.
