Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices eased by 0.18 per cent to Rs 34,137 per kg in futures trade in evening session today as speculators trimmed their exposure even as the metal strengthened overseas.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) remained closed for the morning session on account of Diwali (Bali Pratipada).

At MCX, silver prices for delivery in December contracts was trading lower by Rs 60, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 34,137 per kg in business turnover of 386 lots.

In the international market, silver traded 0.49 per cent higher at USD 14.42 an ounce in London.

Analysts attributed the fall in silver prices in futures trade to offloading of positions by speculators, even as the metal's gain overseas limited losses.
