Six killed in bus-truck collision

Six persons were killed and 36 injured when a bus ferrying pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh to Sangam in Allahabad collided with a truck on Etawah-Gwalior road late last night.

The bus, in which pilgrims from Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, were travelling, and the truck collided when their drivers tried to save a cow that had strayed onto the road near police lines trisection, circle officer Shivraj Singh said today.

Six of the seriously injured were admitted to Saifai PGI hospital, the CO said, adding that those killed included Balram 60, Jagmohan 40 and Srishti 2.

The deceased also included the two drivers and one more person.
 

There were 42 passengers in the bus including nine women and five children.
