The intense heat wave in Uttar Pradesh abated slightly today with the MeT Department predicting rainfall likely in parts of the state.
Etawah was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.
Lucknow recorded a high of 35.3 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal.

The Department has said that Lucknow is likely to witness partly cloudy sky, with rain/thunder showers likely at few places over the state.
It also warned that thunderstorm accompanied with squall are very likely at isolated places over the state.
Rainfall was recorded in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bahraich, Sultanpur, Jhansi, Basti, Ghazipur and Orai.
