Small sugar slips in lacklustre trade

Small sugar prices slipped in an

otherwise lacklustre Vashi wholesale market here today post sluggish demand from stockists and retailers.

Medium sugar ruled steady in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.

Small sugar (S-30) eased by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 3,175/3,301 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,190/3,301.

Elsewhere, medium sugar (M-30) quoted at Rs 3,260/3,470 per quintal.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,175/3,301 (Rs 3,190/3,301).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,260/3,470 (Rs 3,260/3,470).
