Smuggling bid foiled in J-K's Samba district, 165 kg of poppy seized

Foiling a major smuggling bid, police today arrested one person and seized 165 kg of poppy from his possession, an official said.

A truck, which was on its way to Punjab from Kashmir, was intercepted at Mansar Morh in Samba district and 165 kg of poppy was recovered from it during a search operation, he said.

The truck driver, identified as Mehraj Din, was arrested and the vehicle was seized by the police, he added.
