Soybean futures rise on upbeat global leads

Soybean prices posted a gain of Rs 17 to Rs 3,678 per quintal in futures trade today amidst widening of holdings by the operators in tune with upbeat overseas cues.

Market players mentioned the up movements in soybean futures to bolstering of prices at overseas markets.

Besides, upward movements in edible oils helped to push up the trading sentiments, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for May went up by Rs 17, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 3,768 per quintal, with the business turnover of 1,82,800 open lots.

In a similar way, the delivery for June edged up by Rs 12, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 3,823 per quintal, with an open interest of 73,120 lots.
