SP leader shot dead in Banda

A local Samajwadi Party leader and his associate were shot dead by three motorcycle-borne assailants in Banda district, police said here today.

Badal Khan (40), SP leader and his aide identified as Pankaj (22) were going in their Scorpio towards Mataudh when they were stopped near Keotara trisection and shot at, police said.

They were rushed to a hospital where they later succumbed to injuries, police said.
