Several incidents of violence between the ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition parties were today reported from various parts of city, police said.

According to Lalbazar police officials, in Patuli, last night, CPI-M workers were attacked by alleged TMC goons leading to serious injuries to three CPI(M) activists. A police complaint has been lodged in the case.

In Narkeldanga, located in the eastern part of the city, Congress candidate Parkash Upadhyay was attacked by alleged TMC activists in broad daylight this morning, police said.

In the Kasba area, a scuffle broke out between TMC and BJP workers. The situation was later brought under control by the police.

TMC leader and state minister Firhad Hakim, however, dismissed the incidents of violence as mere allegations, saying the opposition parties were fighting among themselves and passed them off as violence by his party.
